visits and policies
Visits, Parking & Directions
We are doing all that we can to keep our patients and staff safe.
Do not leave home if you or someone you live with has either:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Face coverings
Everyone coming to hospital will be expected to wear a face-covering or mask.
As well as wearing a face covering, people attending healthcare settings are asked to:
- clean their hands often and to wash their hands – or use the hand gel available – when arriving and leaving
- follow social distancing measures
- come in alone, wherever possible, or attend with just one other person
Information for visitors
There is limited visiting to some of our inpatient wards across our hospitals.
Patients can receive up to one visitor per day for up to an hour (unless there are exceptional circumstances). This will be at the discretion of the wards and agreed by the ward manager.
We are also asking the following:
- Wherever possible only the same named visitor should come into the ward/clinical area during the admission, except for parents of children where both may be allowed to alternate
- Visitors must be over 16 years old, unless there are exceptional circumstances
- Visitors must wear relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the area they are visiting. As a minimum face coverings must be worn at all times
Please contact the ward for more details. Visiting may also be subject to change if further national guidance is received.
Public car parking
We have a spacious but limited number of patient and visitor car parking spaces at Sophike Medical Centre.
Please park responsibly when parking at our hospitals.
- Only park in designated areas
- Do not cause an obstruction to traffic or access to buildings
- Do not park overnight
